On July 8, 2024, the first youth workers activity of the Upcycling Waste project brought together over 25 youth workers, age 18 – 35 for an engaging and transformative experience. Held at CutSummerCamp, the activity featured the interactive game ‘Plastic Survivor,’ which not only raised awareness about the environmental impact of plastic but also empowered participants to explore practical solutions for reducing its use. Through hands-on exercises, the youth workers honed their creativity by transforming recycled plastics into new, innovative products. The experience fostered a deeper understanding of sustainable practices, equipping these young leaders with the skills and knowledge to inspire and implement environmental change within their own youth organisations and groups.
